15 Jul Zinedine Zidane’s brother Farid has expired, Real Madrid affirm
The La Liga club have verified the French trainer is on depart after the departure of his brother Farid after a long-term illness
Real Madrid have verified mentor Zinedine Zidane’s brother Farid has died at the time of 54.
Zidane abandoned the club’s training camp at Montreal on Friday because of personal reasons, together with Madrid declaring he had been absent for an unspecified period.
His son Luca, a goalkeeper in Madrid currently playing on loan in Racing Santander, also left handed consent to leave training out of his new team after receiving the information.
The Madrid team held a moment’s silence before instruction on Saturday after being made aware of Farid’s death, which followed a protracted battle with sickness.
Real Madrid supported Farid’s departure on their site, using a statement announcing that the moment of silence.
“All members of the Real Madrid first-team team held a moment’s silence before coaching in Montreal after the departure of Farid Zidane, the brother of the trainer, Zinedine Zidane,” the announcement read.
Zidane’s helper David Bettoni is going to be responsible for their initial team before the head trainer’s return. Bettoni and Zidane are close buddies, having met while the pair were at the childhood team collectively at French side Cannes.
Madrid are now in their fourth day of instruction at Montreal on a pre-season training camp before a range of games in the USA.
Their initial pre-season competition comes from Bayern Munich on July 20 at Houston, Texas, in the International Champions Cup.
Next Los Blancos will face Arsenal on July 23 at Landover, Maryland and shut their ICC schedule using a Madrid derby with Atletico in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 26.
The team open their 2019-20 La Liga program on August 17 away from home from Celta de Vigo.
