19 Jul Transport information: Emery worries Arsenal’s requirement to get a new president after conceding Koscielny could’potentially’ depart the club
The Spanish boss has confessed the Frenchman’s time in Emirates Stadium could be upward, while also expressing a desire to encourage younger group members
Unai Emery has confessed that Laurent Koscielny could”potentially” render Arsenal summer time, in a movement that would improve his demand for a new leader inside the group before their 2019-20 season.
Koscielny caused a storm last week after he refused to journey with all the Gunners squad due to their pre-season excursion of the USA, which forced the team to start disciplinary proceedings.
The 33-year-old’s present contract in the Emirates Stadium expires next summer, together with Arsenal now allegedly content to allow the deal run down before letting him leave nothing.
A range of Ligue 1 clubs have expressed an interest in Koscielny, who’s drawn to a possible return to France, however, Bayer Leverkusen are also considered to be monitoring his situation.
Ahead of Arsenal’s following International Champions Cup fixture against Fiorentina at Los Angeles on Saturday, Emery declared that the Frenchman is on the verge of a departure whilst at the same time showing potential candidates to inherit the captain’s armband.
“I need one British participant in those five captains,” said the Spanish supervisor.
“Last year (Granit) Xhaka, Mesut (Ozil) and Nacho (Monreal) were functioning as captains. But following Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech abandoned – and maybe Laurent Koscielny – that I will need more.
“An English participant who grew up in our academy will comprehend the English soul and Arsenal values. We dropped some players with large experience and also a very long time in England and Arsenal such as Cech and Ramsey.
“We dropped Koscielny too. They began one day , when they were young”
One individual who might occupy leadership duties for Arsenal is Rob Holding, who’s on the verge of a return to activity after more than six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The 23-year old began the 2018-19 effort ardently at centre-back prior to being forced off from Manchester United in December, but he can go back to full fitness by August.

“We’re really pleased with his (Holding’s) advancement,” Emery added.
“We want his performances as a center back. [Before] he needed his trauma, he had been actually playing with large performances.”
Arsenal begins the new season with a visit to St James’ Park to confront Newcastle, prior to hosting Burnley in the Emirates six days after.
