Real Madrid information: Zidane leaves coaching camp because of private motives

The team supported in a brief announcement the head trainer will be absent in their training camp at Montreal

Zinedine Zidane has abandoned Real Madrid’s training camp at Montreal because of private factors.

The team verified in a brief announcement that head trainer Zidane is going to probably be absent for an unspecified length of the excursion.

“Our supervisor Zinedine Zidane is going to be absent in pre-season training camp due to private reasons,” the announcement published on Friday explained.

“Until his return, the sessions will be directed by the next trainer, David Bettoni.”

Friday has been Madrid’s third day of instruction in Canada in advance of the pre-season opener against Bayern Munich at Houston, Texas on July 20 from the International Champions Cup.

Madrid will subsequently take on Arsenal on July 23 out of Washington, D.C. prior to finishing their ICC run from cross-town competitions Atletico on July 26 in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. 

The Blancos are seeking to bounce back after a disappointing effort that saw them finish well behind Barcelona in La Liga and hauled out at the Champions League last 16 from Ajax.

Madrid were pumped out of the Copa del Rey by Barcelona, together with all the Club World Cup that the team’s only decoration of the year.

The team have undertaken a significant spending spree this summer to make sure they do not replicate the disappointment of this 2018-19 effort, together with Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrygo brought in.
