The Magpies boss dealt his future with the team on Friday together with his present deal dying in summer time
Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has stated the”the ball is in their court” about a new contract using the team.
The Spanish boss’ contract is scheduled to expire in the conclusion of the year and he signaled his goal was to stay with the Magpies despite recent speculation linking him with a move to France.
Benitez proceeded to tackle these rumours too on Friday, telling a press conference:”The only bar I am speaking about my future today is Newcastle.”
“I am awaiting a response.
“I did not have some encounters [in France] since I had been here until late”
Benitez also said a dialog between his agents and Newcastle’s managing director, Lee Charnley, with respect to another deal from the North East.
“They’re coming with some thing, we’re coming with some thing, that is it. The ball is in their court.
“It had been Lee Charnley together with my own people. I won’t talk a lot about that. You’ve got the clarification. The ball is in their court.”
Benitez, who has had spells with Valencia, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea, Napoli and Real Madrid, took over at St. James’ Park in March 2016 but was not able to stave off relegation from the Premier League year.
He led the team back to the top flight another time and steered him to 10th at the table term, which had been the team’s joint-highest finishing standing since 2011-12.
Newcastle are now 14th in the league, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Benitez has regularly cut a frustrated figure on Tyneside as continuous takeover rumours have generated an unsettled atmosphere.
