Mexico starting lineup Haiti: Andres Guardado, Jonathan dos Santos match to begin in midfield

The veteran midfielder captains El Tri after having his position in doubt due to a knock

Andres Guardado is beginning for the Mexico nationwide team in its semifinal against Haiti. 

The veteran captain was in uncertainty for this match, with director Tata Martino stating the inside midfielder was coping with a knock picked up at the next match of the championship – an accident that nearly directed Martino to rest in the quarterfinal against Costa Rica. 

But he began and will do this again. So also will Jonathan dos Santos, who came from this quarterfinal whining of a cramp but explained after the game he’d be fit for tonight’s competition despite just 3 times between the experiences. In between, Edson Alvarez once more plays as the holding midfielder.  

There are just two changes to the group which topped the Ticos in a penalty shootout to maneuver the last four.
