The Spain international is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer, together with rumours swirling that Juventus might be interested in signing him

David de Gea isn’t crucial at Manchester United when his contract provide remains unsigned, based on former Red DevilsĀ goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.

The Spain global is at the last year of his present Old Trafford contract, using a new deal worth a reported #290,000-a-week staying unsigned.

And Van der Sar, who spent six years at Old Trafford, is a major fan of De Gea however insists there are loads of great alternatives about if he decides to leave the club. Including academy participant Dean Henderson, who’s now on loan at Sheffield United.

“Additional goalkeepers may also fill out the gap,” the Dutchman said.

“You will find a few Premier League goalkeepers playing in the club that will even take the step up. I had been 34 once I moved to United, therefore there are plenty of opportunities there.

“The choice should come at a specific point. It has taken quite a while now, so it is true’yes’ or’no’ but I am not a manager of United.”

De Gea’s recent form hasn’t been the very best either, together with the United number one at fault for quite a few goals near the end of last year while he had been blamed for Crystal Palace’s winner in their 2-1 success last month.

However, Van der Sar insists that great players undergo dips in shape and anticipates De Gea to return to his best shortly.

The 48-year old has been connected with a potential return to Manchester because they hunt for a manager of football to operate with director Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He insists that he has no intention to depart the Netherlands in the moment but confessed it is a position he may consider later on.

“You will never know,” Van der Sar regarding the chance of a return to England.

“In the present time, Ajax is your principle notion where I am placing all of my time and effort and everything happens, we’ll see.”
