Man Utd news: I do not think a word Paul Pogba states he plays himself – Roy Keane

The World Cup winning midfielder’s devotion to the origin in Old Trafford has been called into question after a poor run of results

Roy Keane has contributed a less than flattering opinion on Paul Pogba, together with the former Manchester United man saying that he believes that the midfielder no more wishes to signify the Old Trafford side and his performances make this apparent.

Many believed Pogba was let loose from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his appointment, together with supporters and pundits of this consensus that Jose Mourinho’s strategies had stifled the Frenchman’s imagination and capacity to push United upward the pitch.

This upturn in shape for Pogba has ground to a halt in recent months, but with a embarrassing 4-0 thumping at the hands of Everton in the weekend only the headline lead to a series or dire performances.

It’s during these times that clubs may phone on their large names to secure the boat, together with Pogba lately telling Sky Sports which he’ll provide everything for his club and his team-mates as they seem for back on course.

Keane, however, is far from certain of Pogba’s sincerity.

“I would not believe a word he says,” the former Red Devils skipper mentioned before this game. “There is no meaning for this. I do not even believe he thought what he was saying .

“He speaks about being a great team-partner – if you are going to become a great team-partner then you have to run back if you are defending.

“He explained it got somewhat heated following the match against Everton — I discovered they were really throwing their own hair gel each other!

“The man’s a gifted boy but we are saying the very same things over and over again. The Amount of times I have seen him in matches where he is not sprinting back or running …

“He is speaking about body language he had been throwing up his arms in the atmosphere. He is a major issue.”

Keane was subsequently asked if he believes that Pogba is a terrible influence in the club as they fight for consequences during a challenging period, and the Irishman was scathing in his analysis.

“You want good examples in your football club, you require senior players and this is a mature player. He has been in major contests and won large prizes, but I do not believe he leads by example.

“Clearly I do not understand what he is like on the training floor or whenever they are travelling, however, he said body satisfaction and language. I really don’t find it in his performances and my eyes do not lie .

“The top players create their teams and their team-teammates better and that he does not do this. He plays himself.”
