The Brazilian played a pivotal role as the reigning champions transferred back to the peak of the Premier League table on Wednesday night
Fernandinho has stated Manchester City are competing’like creatures’ within their pursuit to keep their Premier League crown.
City proceeded one step closer to attaining that goal on Wednesday night when they beat local rivals Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The victory moved them before Liverpool in the title racewith three matches remaining for every club as the year draws to a close.
Discussing following the Manchester derby, Fernandinho believes that the operation on Wednesday highlights City’s fighting qualities before the closing months of this 2018/19 effort
“Yes [we are fighting] — although not only tonight, generally every match,” the midfielder said following the victory.
“Notably last Saturday following the defeat [over two legs] against Tottenham, how we played against the very first moment.
“We revealed the want in competing for each ball like creatures. I believe that is the soul of a team that wishes to be winners”
“The significant thing we spoke about before the match was we can’t concede any goals, since we’ve got the players up front that will score the goals for us.
“In any activity they could create any likelihood and score goals, and that’s what occurred.
“The first half was slightly weird for us since we could not find the area we find every match but in the second half we discovered the distance and made a great deal of opportunities to score. Eventually we scored just two goals. It was a huge three points”
The success from the Red Devils could prove crucial in City’s search to acquire the name and Pep Guardiola’s guys know they just have to match Liverpool’s results in the run-in to assert their fourth Premier League name.
Fernandinho considers this accomplishment could be much more striking given they trailed their cabinets competitions by seven factors.
“If you return to January, they [Liverpool] might have been 10 points evident after our match,” said the Brazilian.

“It will be an extremely significant, very tough match for us,” explained Fernandinho. “Now we’ve got three matches to playwith, three finals, and we wish to attempt and win these matches.”
