Jurgen Klopp is cautious of Sadio Mane’s shortage of rest going into the new year, together with the Liverpool celebrity’s effort yet to arrive at a conclusion.

On the rear of a gruelling 2018-19 effort, Premier League Golden Boot joint-winner Mane has scored three goals to assist Senegal into the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Friday’s showdown with Algeria at Cairo ends a year that has lasted near 12 weeks for its 27-year old, who featured for his state in the 2018 World Cup. )

Liverpool’s season begins on August 4 together with the Community Shield clash against Premier League champions Manchester City in Wembley.

Recently promoted Norwich City then traveling to Anfield on August 9, at the launching Premier League fixture of 2019-20.

And Klopp confessed his concern over Mane’s willingness for the new year, confirming Liverpool are yet to choose when Mane will go back to the fold.

“With Sadio, we must see about him following the closing — he is feeling and things like this,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official site.

“It’ll be really hard. Sixteen days until we play with City, his period is completed. We’ll need to make a choice, but we have not made it yet.”

While Mane’s return date is yet to be established, Klopp — whose group have been on tour at the United States — disclosed Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and goalkeeper Alisson will reunite for a coaching camp at Evian afterwards in July.

The trio have been given extended breaks after their involvement at the AFCON and Copa America respectively, together with Klopp convinced they will have sufficient time to get ready for the City fixture.

“This means we’ve almost a week before City, a powerful 12 days before Norwich and then 15 or 16 days before Chelsea [in the UEFA Super Cup],” Klopp said.

“We must see. The fantastic thing is, even whenever you’ve got a brief break you do not lose a good deal. 

“I’d have preferred it when they’d come back after a week, but that could leave absolutely no sense.  So, [they have] those 3 months after which we’ll have them for pre-season.”
