The Reds director has heaped praise on his team captain once they battled into an impressive 2-0 victory over Maurizio Sarri’s side
Jurgen Klopp saluted Jordan Henderson’s leadership and form following the Liverpool captain impressed in the prized 2-0 triumph over Chelsea on Sunday.
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah equally scored in the space of 3 minutes in the second half to deliver the Anfield club into the peak of the Premier League.
England midfielder Henderson compelled the breakthrough since he teed up winger Mane’s led opener soon half-time using a delicate cross to the far post.
The 28-year old has flourished in a box-to-box part in recent games and his help further warranted Klopp’s choice to move him farther upfield.
“I have said it because the very first day I came and my view has not changed: he is a wonderful skipper with this particular team,” Klopp informed Sky Sports. “On and off the pitch, he is superb.
“He has played many places – that I pushed him to perform – and that he was very, very significant. There wasn’t 1 part of him which wasn’t important.
“In the past 3 games he is clearly on fire, which can be great.”
Liverpool’s triumph was their sixth straight in most contests and at home to Chelsea in the Premier League because 2012.
Additionally, it revived the Reds’ two-point edge over title rivals Manchester City, who previously won 3-1 in Crystal Palace.
Henderson told Sky Sports:”It is another huge win for us in another huge game.
“We must focus on ourselves, work hard in training and perform the company once we play in the weekend or at midweek.
“We are enjoying it, that is the principal thing. We have got to keep doing this.”
Liverpool’s focus now switches into their next fixture from Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday.

They now hold a 2-0 aggregate guide over the side and will want to progress to the last four of their contest for the second year running.
