14 Apr Leeds United 1 Sheffield Wednesday 0 in Championship
Leeds United took advantage of Sheffield United’s draw with Millwall by beating a tenacious Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.
Leeds United moved into second position in the Championship with a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Sheffield United, who began the day third, were held to a 1-1 draw by Millwall in Bramall Lane thanks to some 95th-minute equaliser from Jake Cooper.
That end result was sufficient to transfer them instant on goal difference, but Leeds moved back over these and established a three-point gap to the chasing bunch because of some second-half target from Jack Harrison.
Keiren Westwood maintained Marcelo Bielsa’s side at bay to the first 65 moments with some fine goalkeeping, with especially notable saves to deny Tyler Roberts.

Leeds consistently seemed the most likely to break the deadlock, however, and they did when Harrison steered Pablo Hernandez’s low cross to the bottom-left corner of the internet.
The effect sets Leeds in the driving seat to get a top-two end, while Wednesday are 10th, six points off the play-offs.
