‘I believe I’ve been worthy’ – Suarez proud of Barca accomplishments despite criticism

Luis Suarez considers he has shown himself worthy of Barcelona’s No. 9 top whilst at the same time talking about the strain and criticism which comes with being the club’s star forward.

Suarez joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2014 after scoring 82 aims in 133 games throughout his stay at Anfield.

Ever since, he has gone on to create 245 looks for the La Liga powerhouse, scoring 177 occasions while winning La Liga three occasions, a Champions League trophy and four Copa del Reys.

That scoring tally has him on Barcelona’s all-time record, supporting only Lionel Messi, Cesar, Laszlo Kubala and Josep Samitier, while he sits third on their La Liga scoring graph.

And Suarez states that achievement has surpassed even his own expectations.

“I’ve won a great deal of decorations — perhaps more than I’d have expected — but it goes with the territory when playing with this club,” he informed that the Daily Mail.

“Along With Barcelona’s third greatest scorer in La Liga — imagine , with all of the excellent players who have passed through this club.

“I believe I’ve produced the merchandise. I believe I’ve been worthy of the club No 9 shirt”

However, there’s been criticism, especailly as it concerns the Champions League.

Suarez hasn’t scored Champions League goal since 2015 because his side prepares to shoot on former club Liverpool from the semi-final round.

That complaint has not been a detriment, Suarez says, along with his perceived struggles, in his mind, are merely that: sensed.

“That does not keep me awake at night,” he explained. “I understand I am the only real player in Europe that has been able to get anywhere close to Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo at the race to the Golden Shoe at the previous five decades. And two I won it.”

He added: “They say everything. I laugh at it. You’ve got to understand to live with the criticism. Here, you move a few bad games and it is:’Oh, a’ poor run’. They’re the requirements here.”

Suarez and Barcelona, that will lock another La Liga title that weekend, host Liverpool on Wednesday at the first leg of the match game.
