The Juventus celebrity discussed his relationship with his former head coach at Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo stated Zinedine Zidane made him feel unique in Real Madrid since he hailed the mythical French midfielder’s training abilities.
Ronaldo abandoned Madrid before this 2018-19 year, joining Juventus at a blockbuster deal following three successive Champions League titles beneath Zidane’s leadership.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner enjoyed good success throughout his period with Zidane in the Santiago Bernabeu, also winning La Liga at 2016-17.
And Ronaldo heaped praise on Zidane — who’s in his second stint in charge of Madrid — since he discussed that the pair’s relationship.
“The assurance that a participant wants does not only come out of himself but also by the players and the trainer,” Ronaldo told DAZN.
“You want to feel just like you’re an significant part the team and Zidane made me feel unique.
“He helped me a great deal. I had a great deal of admiration for him working together with him made me respect him more.
“That is because of what he is like as a individual, the way he talks, the way he led the team and the way he handled me.
“He would tell me,’Cris, unwind and play with your game – you’re the person who’s going to make the difference’
“He was always honest with me and that is why I’ll have a true affection for him.”
Zidane returned to Real Madrid in March after leaving after the 2018 Champions League final victory over Liverpool.
He was substituted by Julen Lopetegui, who lasted only a matter of weeks before being substituted himself by Santiago Solari.
But, Solari did not fare much better as his tenure lasted only months as well prior to the club chose to maneuver on to its third manager of this effort.
After Real Madrid’s jolt Champions League removal to Ajax and together with all the team sputtering in La Liga, the Spanish giants switched to Zidane once more since the Frenchman signed a new deal which will keep him in the club during 2022.

Ronaldo scored 21 Serie A goals in his first year with Italian champions Juventus, who won their eighth consecutive Scudetto.
Juventus are set to start up their Serie A campaign against Parma on August 24 while Real Madrid’s La Liga season starts this Saturday with a trip to Celta Vigo.
