Harry Kane harm: Pochettino states Tottenham could be out for remainder of the year

The striker has been hurt in a battle with Fabian Delph, also was not able to put any strain on his arm after the struggle

Tottenham supervisor Mauricio Pochettino has confessed that striker Harry Kane may be out for the remainder of the season.

Kane needed to be eliminated out of Tuesday’s Champions League game against Manchester City with a left ankle injury. 

At the 55th moment, the Spurs star tried to obstruct a clearance by Fabian Delph and the City defender inadvertently stepped on Kane’s foot as he had been following through. 

Kane instantly needed to be helped down the tube, not able to put any strain on his troublesome left shoulder.

The Tottenham star was substituted by Lucas Moura, together with the Brazilian coming from the bench from the 58th moment of a scoreless quarter-final leg. 

Spurs went on to win the game 1-0, obtaining a 78th-minute target from Son Heung-Min to provide them the edge before the next leg. 

However, the triumph came at a price, since the Spurs boss stated following the match that Kane might have played his final match this year.

“It is very, very miserable. It is going to be hard and we are going to miss him maybe for the remainder of the season,” Pochettino informed BT Sport.

Kane’s injury is going to be a significant concern for Tottenham and also for England, since the striker hurt the exact same left ankle he hurt again in January.

Kane was out for six months after suffering torn ankle ligaments at a loss to Manchester United on January 13. 

Together with the calendar with changed to April, Kane seems to be facing a challenging comeback to make it back until the end of the season.

Spurs have six Premier League matches staying, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side holding on the fourth and final Champions League place, 1 point before fifth-placed Arsenal.

Kane will even miss Tottenham’s return leg Man Town, which will happen next Wednesday in the Etihad Stadium. 

The 25-year old is at the center of another powerful effort, using scored 24 aims in 38 appearances in all competitions for Spurs in 2018-19.

Kane’s standing might also be in doubt for England’s UEFA Nations League semi-final contrary to the Netherlands on June 6.
