The centre-back may have let the cat out of the bag seeing his next destination, but his replies did little to shed some light
In-demand Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has given little off regarding his upcoming destination at a question and answer session, list Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique and Virgil van Dijk because his selections as the top few centre-backs on the planet.
De Ligt has been linked with a move to Barcelona, together with his mentor, Erik ten Hag, confessing he has no idea if the child will connect the Blaugrana or Bayern Munich, while Serie A champions Juventus are also reported to be keen on that the Dutchman.
The 19-year old may have let something slide when asked to mention his own selections for the world’s finest defenders since he hosted an AMA session on Instagram, however his replies gave no hints about which club he’ll represent next semester.
“I will name three defenders that are extremely great,” he explained. “I believe Sergio Ramos is a really good defender. Gerard Pique too, not to mention my compatriot Virgil van Dijk.”
And while Hag has confessed that there’s zero possibility of De Ligt staying an Ajax player prior to the conclusion of the year, the participant himself asserts that there’s a possibility he could remain on at Amsterdam if the side handle to assert the Champions League.
“I have not decided yet so I do not understand [if I will stay],” he travelled on. “I’m just focused on the very last games of this season for the time being. We have a whole lot to play so let us finish this year in a fantastic way.”

Barcelona have already wrapped up the signing of De Ligt’s team-partner Frenkie de Jong for $75 million (Number 65m/$85m) and also several have endorsed the duo to keep their on-area connection in Camp Nou.
However, despite being considered a phenomenon similar to his young countryman, De Ligt doesn’t expect to control the same transfer commission as De Jong.
“Can I be more costly than Frenkie? ) I really don’t believe so, no,” he explained. “Normally teams invest more cash on midfield players compared to defenders. I truly don’t understand. It is around Ajax, it is not something which I decide. We will see.”
