Catalan team’s president handles return of Manchester City manager and club legend for academy part later on
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has stated that Pep Guardiola will always be welcome back in Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana supremo was reacting to remarks the Manchester City manager made last year seeing a prospective return to the bar at which he remains an icon.
Present Barca coach Ernesto Valverde signed a contract extension earlier this month however, Bartomeu claims that the possibility is there for Pep to return in some capacity in the long run.
“He took the choice to depart and naturally, if Barca are searching for a new trainer I am certain that he’ll be among the following board candidates,” Bartomeu informed ESPN.
“I believe Pep said lately he did not find himself as the initial team trainer again, but possibly with all the academy.
“He is very apparent on the club’s philosophy and kind of play and also to have the ability to bring him back home could be fantastic for the club and also for its gamers.”
Last year Guardiola told tv program Universo Valdano which he’d love to round out his training career where it started — in Barcelona’s famed La Masia.
Guardiola invested 11 years in Barcelona as a primary -team participant after coming through the ranks of the club’s academy.
He finished his acting career with brief stints in Italy, Qatar and Mexico before returning to direct Barcelona B after which the very first team, in which he won 14 decorations in four seasons before going to Bayern Munich.
Bartomeu has addressed that the yield of this icon before.
